About Me

After leaving Illinois State University with a concentration on health and fitness, I got my start in the industry working for a private personal training studio (1995). After 5 years of working for someone else I decided to open my own private health and wellness studio. Not having any understanding what went into working in AND on my business (on top of running a side handyman business) I burned myself out and hit bottom. Being exhausted and worn out every insecurity I had came flooding to the surface to the point I almost decided to take my own life. It was in that moment that I decided that I needed to learn to love myself and haven't looked back since! It's been the number one commitment in my life since!

Fast forward to 2003 when I was introduced to a bodywork technique called Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT), which allows me to restore neurologically inhibited muscle tissue that, which causes instability, and is often the root of muscle tightness and pain. Now that I was working hands on with other humans I could see the effect of stress immediately in one's nervous system. What was most interesting is when I was stressed I had en effect on their body (with pain, illness and body weight--all have an emotional basis to it). With that, I knew I had much more work to do to put myself into a place where I could help people using this process. I also saw what people did to themselves through stress and tried to find ways to help them the ways I was helping myself. It was not long after that I became a certified life coach through the Coach Training Alliance (2005) so I could start working with people in that capacity.  

As time evolves and both my education expands and I continue to practice my skills to accommodate many different needs evolves as well. What you see on this site is the expression of my education (both formally and informally) and my experience (both with myself and with clients). 

It is my goal to continue to grow individually and to expand those I can help do the same!!
